Dia de los Muertos | Day of the Dead
The students and teaching artists of the LACER Afterschool Programs have been invited by Hollywood Forever to create The LACER Afterschool Exhibit, part of the Dia de los Muertos Celebration on November 2nd, 2019.
Sponsored by Hollywood Forever, our students are building a large-scale altar made of shoebox nichos, candles, masks, and monarch butterflies honoring those who have passed and they will be telling their immigration stories through their art as part of this year's theme, Sacred Migration.
On the day of this epic event, the largest of its kind in the United States, LACER's King Drill Team will perform, opening the show on the mainstage and throughout the entire event, attended by over 50K people, the LACER Afterschool Exhibit will be open. Please check out the event maps for the exhibit location.
Schedule:
3:45 PM - LACER’s King Drill Team open the show on the Mainstage
12 noon to Midnight - LACER Afterschool Art Exhibit, a collaborative altar made of hundreds of shoebox nichos created by LACER middle school students.
